ABOUT ME

My name is Donna Wood, I am qualified OFSTED childminder holding a paediatric first aid Certificate, safeguarding children certificate, food hygiene certificate and have completed my home care childminding course. Working with children is something I have wanted to do from a young age and wanted to be a childminder ever since I went to my childminders when I was young. I studied for my NVA as soon as I left school completing an apprentership at a nursery and then went on to work at the nursery for 3 years. I started childminding in 2007 and love working with children in my own setting and being able to take the children out.

ABOUT THE SETTING

Cosy Cubs Childminding offers a caring home from home environment, whilst following the curriculum of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our home is very spacious offering the children lots of areas to play, we have a main playroom also an equipped games room for the older children. Child led and free play is encouraged, we will have themes and activities throughout the year which the children will be encouraged to participate in but is not essential. Use of the great outdoors is encouraged and I aim to get out and about daily. We go to play groups, play areas, parks, turbo tots and lots more in term- time In the school holidays we like to get about and visit farms, zoos, parks, play areas, sea life centres, cinema, bowling and lots more depending on the age range of children.

OPENING HOURS

I offer flexible opening hours but primarily my setting is open between 7:30am till 6:00pm, if you require care outside of these hours please discuss it with me. MEALS I provide Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner to all the children that I care for. But if you wish to bring your own that is fine to. The majority of meals are homemade and cooked using fresh ingredients.
